Me: Heavenly Father, I am so grateful that I can count on Your divine mercy being renewed every morning, especially in the middle of this pandemic. It gives me so much hope and I love to share my knowledge and experience of Your mercy with everyone I come across. I will always announce and celebrate Your mercy.
God: I am glad to hear you talk about My mercy. Tell me though, can people detect My mercy in your words, your voice, your intonation or the way you speak? Can people perceive My mercy operating in your life? In your eyes? In your personality?
Can people sense that it is My mercy acting through your hands and propelling your feet? Are you just a messenger of My mercy or are you actually a carrier of my mercy?
What do you think, my beloved daughter? I have access to all your thoughts and the inner workings of your mind. Do I easily recognize My mercy in your thoughts and opinions of others or the happenings in your environment?
Me: Dead silence. I thought I was boasting about the God in me…I am speechless and humbled….now it’s back to the drawing board.……
I get it now, God. Please help me, it’s easier said than done. I really want to be a vessel of Your mercy. Please increase the power of Your Spirit working in me. Give me the grace I need to carry Your mercy about 24/7.
On my own, perhaps I can occasionally make an effort to act or speak mercifully, but to think and consider all things and all people mercifully, that is too hard for me. I surrender my thoughts to You. Help me to walk all my talk, and beyond that, help my thoughts correspond to both the walk and the talk, so as to give them value in Your sight.
Prayer: “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the LORD – Is.55:8. Dear Father, Your ways are not our way. Help me to see myself as You see me. May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer – Ps.19 :14
