God is the lawgiver. When we judge others based on the laws He has given, we are forgetting our place and taking upon ourselves, a role that is way beyond our paygrade. We are called to be doers of the law, not judges of the law.
In the first place, we are judging with our half-baked knowledge, given that we cannot access the thoughts and motives of the individual, the way only God can. In addition, we are insulting the Giver of the law, as if He is not able to or competent enough to judge what we are getting worked up about.
If we were to look at someone judging a Christian brother from God’s point of view, what would we see? We would see the person inadvertently placing himself on the same level as God, usurping His role, trying to play God. Self-elevation…….pride……..We need not spend time elucidating how offensive that is to God.
May we be blessed with godly wisdom and discernment to help us understand the common ways we offend God, voluntarily and involuntarily. May we blessed with the courage to reject them immediately in our thoughts, so they do not see the light of day. Amen.
