Psalm 5 Prayer
My Father in heaven, through the mediation of my Redeemer, Jesus, hear my spoken prayer and consider my unspoken prayer; my needs, my emotions and my sincerity. My King, answer my cries in your wisdom; you are my only God that I can run to, have mercy on me. Help me to always unlock my day in the morning with a refreshed spirit and prayers directed to your altar of mercy in faith. Then I will confidently be expectant of new mercies and answers of peace throughout my day.
Deliver me God, because you are a holy God and you cannot stand the evil in those who plot against me. You hate both those who live for sinning and those who thrive in lies and deceit. Jesus has warned that those who are unrepentant of such wickedness will eventually be cast out for destruction. Save me from such, O God.
As for me, I will come into your sanctuary not because of any merits I may have, but because of the merciful access your Son has given me. Grateful for this undeserved grace, I will worship you in holy fear, with a solemn yet joyful awareness. Here, I will renew my trust in your triumphant plans for me, and submit to the leading of your righteous spirit.
For the battle your children face daily is against spiritual wickedness in man that is not hidden. Their corrupt thoughts are always designed to destroy others and they deceive with a smooth tongue. O Righteous Judge, I know you will deal with those unrepentant souls who have rebelled against your mercy in your own good time.
May we who dwell in you be blessed by your grace in all our undertakings. May we never cease to be joyful and grateful for the uncountable favors you bestow on us. May the glory of your name remain our ultimate desire in our daily walk with you. May the grace of our faith through Jesus preserve us all around as our ultimate defence. Amen.
