My Jesus,
Thank you for redeemimg my soul and sparing me from eternal damnation with Your finished work on Calvary. I praise You that my name is written in the Book of Life and I pray You that with the help of the Holy Spirit, I may overcome all my trials and tests of faith and persevere unto the very end. I pray that my actions or inactions may never cause my name to be blotted out from this precious Book. (Rev.3:5)
You who detests lukewarmness, please quicken me with your Spirit to be earnest about all that concerns You (Rev. 3:16). May I never take Your grace for granted or wallow in self-delusion that all will always be well with my soul, no matter what because I have been baptized in faith. May I never consider my wit as true wisdom nor my theoretical knowledge as true faith. May I never be so enamoured of my religious practices that they become a substitute for being in love with You.
May I never be so conceited as to see myself as making progress on my faith journey when all You see is my unbroken, proud and judgmental heart. May I always keep in mind that my soul is different from my body and may I not be deluded that because my life is well, my soul is also well. You who has blessed my life with abundance, may I yearn that my soul may be in abundance as well, lest it be wretched and miserable in the midst of bodily prosperity.
Jesus, let me see me as You see me, warts and all, so I can remain humble and be earnest to impress You as I work towards holiness. Let me see others too as You see them, so I can love what You love in them. Open my eyes Jesus, so I can see Your Father’s glory all around me, every moment of my day. In the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.
Rev. 3:15-18. 15 I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16 So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. 17 You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. 18 I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see.
