Squad Goal: Retraining Our Thoughts

Still on that inability to live from day-to-day with an eye towards the life that awaits us after this one. The goal is to be able to navigate being fully engaged in the hustle of daily living/working while integrating an eternal perspective into our thoughts, words and actions.

One way to do this is by recognizing God’s providential hand in all that we do and strive for. If we always recognize God as the Source and Facilitator of all that we have and are, perhaps a wellspring of gratitude can lead us to want to impress Him and make Him smile at everything we do. We want to imagine Him nodding and saying, ‘This is my beloved daughter/son”.

We all love to pray daily for God’s protection and believe that He answers that prayer. So, as we go about our day, we can imagine God’s Presence (Spirit) within and around us and actually check in with that Presence several times during the day for opinions and feedback.

There is no other way to say this. We have to retrain our thoughts to zero in on our goal for the after-life as a primary objective, even in the middle of pursuing our life-goals. If we can multi-task in our daily activities, we can multi-task in our thought processes. What should I do now? What does God want me to do now?
